The following formula's may be helpful to compare different film products:

To convert from gauge to microns:

microns = gauge x 0.254
e.g. 80 gauge x 0.254 = 20.32 microns (or 20 micron)

To convert from microns to gauge:

gauge = microns / 0.254
e.g. 16 microns / 0.254 = 62.99 gauge (or 63 gauge)

To determine the pounds per roll given the length, width, and gauge of the product:

lbs / roll = ft/roll x 12 x width (inches) x gauge / 30,000
e.g. 6000 feet/roll x 12 x 20 inches x 0.80 gauge / 30,000 = 38.4 lbs / roll
